Jared Honig- Program Director/Head Coach (BEAST Black)

Coach Jared, a USA Gold Licensed Youth Coach, is entering his 10th season as the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Granada Hills Charter HS. Prior to his tenure as Head Coach, he served as an assistant coach and lower level coach in the GHC program (2007-2013). In his nine seasons with the Varsity, Coach Jared has accumulated a 189-67 record (74-7 league record, 8 West Valley League championships). In 2022, GHC finished with a 24-4 overall record and advanced to the CIF State SoCal D1 Quarterfinals. In 2020, GHC finished with a 20-12 record and 3rd place overall in CIF-LA. In 2019, GHC won the CIF-LA Open Division Championship and finished ranked #25 in CA. In 2018, GHC finished with a 28-6 overall record and advanced to the CIF State Division 1 SoCal Regional Semifinals. 

In addition to coaching at GHC, Coach Jared has coached with America's Team, an organization that puts together teams from the USA to compete internationally. In 2016, Coach Jared took a team of local players to tour Italy and play local club teams. In 2018, Coach Jared's second trip with America's Team, he took another group of local athletes to London to tour the city and compete against their local clubs.

Coach Jared is also a Special Education Math Teacher at Granada Hills Charter HS. He has teaching credentials in both mathematics and special education. Coach Jared graduated Summa Cum Laude from Menlo College (2007), with a BS in Sports Management, where he was also a member of the Mens Basketball team. Coach Jared earned his MA in Education from Alliant International University (2017) and his MA in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine (2021)

Coach Jared currently resides in Santa Clarita with his wife, Nat, and daughters, Halia (5) and Addyson (2).

Sheldon Emmer- Asst. Coach (BEAST Black)

Coach Emmer, a USA Gold Licensed Youth Coach, currently is an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Los Angeles Pierce College.  He started coaching basketball in 1972.  Prior to coaching at Pierce College, he coached both high school girls and boys varsity teams for nineteen years, including players who played in the NBA, WNBA, German Pro League, Bulgarian Pro League, Japanese Pro League, Irish Pro League, and on the McDonalds All American Team.

Coach Emmer is a retired attorney and currently resides in Porter Ranch.  He holds a BA in History from Claremont McKenna College; an MA in History from California State University, Northridge; and a JD from San Fernando Valley College of Law.  He is admitted to practice before the U. S. Supreme Court, Ninth U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals, U. S. Tax Court, the federal District Courts for the Central, Southern and Eastern Districts of California, and all courts in the State of California and District of Columbia.

Mark Kramer- Asst. Coach (BEAST Black)

Nick Kindel- Head Coach (BEAST Pink)

Coach Nick Kindel has been coaching High School Girls Basketball at all levels for over a decade. Most recently, Kindel led the Varsity Girls Basketball program at Northridge Academy to an undefeated Valley League Championship in 2022. The Pumas also made the CIF-LA City Section Quarterfinals which is the furtherest any girls basketball team has gone at the D2 level or higher in school history. Coach Nick Kindel was also named 2022 CIF-LA City Section Valley League Coach of the Year.

Prior to Northridge Academy, Kindel led the Santa Clara Saints in Oxnard Varsity Girls Basketball team to a 2021 Tri-Valley League Championship and was named Tri-County Athletic Association/Tri-Valley League Coach of the Year for the 2021 season.

Coach Nick Kindel was also an Assistant Varsity/Head Junior Varsity Coach at Granada Hills Charter High School for five seasons. As an Assistant Varsity Coach under Head Coach Jared Honig, Kindel helped lead the Highlanders to five West Valley League Titles, most wins in a season at 28 in program history in 2018, and was named a Top Assistant Coach in the San Fernando Valley in 2020 by Silver Waves Media. As the Head Junior Varsity Coach at Granada Hills Charter. Kindel led his teams to five West Valley League Championships, 12 Tournament Championships, 2 perfect seasons, the most wins in a season at 26 in 2020, and had an overall record of 118-5.

Kindel was also an Assistant Varsity Coach/Head Junior Varsity Coach at El Camino Real Charter under Head Coach Cara Blumfield and helped lead them to a West Valley League Championship in 2012. As the Head Junior Varsity Coach, Kindel led his team to a Tournament Championship in 2012 and revamped the Lower Level Program from a below .500 team to a winning program. Coach Nick Kindel started his career as the Head Freshman/Sophomore Coach for Girls Basketball at Westlake High School. Kindel led the Freshman/Sophomore girls basketball team to a Perfect Season at 21-0 in 2010, a 2010 F/S Marmonte League Championship, three total Tournament Championships, and was named 2010 F/S Marmonte League Coach of the Year.

Kindel has a Masters Degree in Sports Management with a minor in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and is in the process of getting a teaching credential in Special Education. He resides in Northridge, California.
